Marbled Leather:  Marbling can only be done on absorbent materials, such as paper, cloth, wood or leather.  Hard substances such as glass, metal, or plastic cannot soak up the color.  So leather works quite well for marbling, though the colors may come out a bit muted because of the brownish color of the leather.  Here are some belts that I have marbled; later they will be sealed with a clear varnish to make the color more durable.
